Hello.
Welcome to my little passion project!
I'm a book author, geoscientist, newspaper columnist and well, a blogger (hello Captain Obvious!).
I started BootsOverBooks in 2010. I have always loved writing, but before I became a published author, this blog was where I would let my inner writer freak fly! I also enjoy reading, but it was hard to find sources that wrote about things that really spoke to me. I was looking for a place that archives things about life, travels, and reality milestones - I couldn't find a good one, so I took matters into my own hands and started this website.
As the blog flourished, I also began my stint as a columnist in New Straits Times. Not long after that I published my first book, Dumped: A Journey Of Lessons Through Breakups, Mishaps And Misadventures, which became a bestseller around two months after it was published. As I continue to write in all these different mediums, BootsOverBooks remains my baby - it's a sanctuary for me to write about things that matter the most in my life.
BootsOverBooks is subdivided into a few different sections, inspired by a quote I once came across - to live a full life you have to Get Up, Dress Up, and Show Up. Eat Up is dedicated to my love of cooking (and eating!). Telescope To Mars is made especially to be the source for one of my favourite subjects, relationships.
My hope for this site is for it to be a sanctuary for you too. I hope you find the writings here inspirational to urge you to live bigger, love harder and travel further. I hope that the materials shared here bring you positivity and empowerment. No matter who we are and where we come from, we have so much in common and go through ups and downs - I hope this becomes a place that brings us together.
